University of Georgia promotes Jeanne Fry to director of food services

Athens, Ga. – Jeanne Fry was promoted to director of food services at the University of Georgia on Oct. 15. In her new role, she will be responsible of all meal plan operations, campus catering, food service retail operations, central food storage warehouse and food service facilities management.

Fry has been with UGA Food Services for more than nine years, working her way through the positions of food operations manager, assistant director of food services and associate director of food services. Fry served an instrumental role overseeing three major renovation projects and the construction of one new food service facility. She has implemented new menu concepts such as the Oriental Trading Post, Joe at the O coffee shop and the 24-hour meal plan service at Snelling Dining Commons. She is president of the southern region of the National Association of College and Universities Food Service.

Michael Floyd. “She is a natural leader who inspires her team members to excel and provide our customers with an outstanding food service program. I look forward to working with Mrs. Fry as we take Food Services to a new level of excellence.”

The University of Georgia Food Services is the largest college food service program in the southeast serving more than 8,300 students who purchase meal plans. The department also has the distinction of winning 67 national food service awards, more national food service awards than any other college food service program in the country.
