An upcoming auction at UGA will provide support for students pursuing advanced degrees through the College of Veterinary Medicine. The auction, which includes dinner and entertainment, will be held Feb. 15 at 7 p.m. in the Grand Hall of the Tate Student Center.
The benefit auction is the biggest fundraiser for SCAVMA, UGA’s student chapter of the American Veterinary Medical Association. SCAVMA provides annual scholarships for veterinary students, funds student veterinary projects that serve the Athens community and donates thousands of dollars each year to the UGA Veterinary Teaching Hospital.
Items to be auctioned include artwork, karate and surfing lessons, gift cards, gift baskets and packages for entertainment events and attractions with hotel stays. SCAVMA still is accepting items for the auction. To donate items or services or to purchase tickets, contact Alessandra Keenan, auction committee chair, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Tickets also may be purchased online at http://www.vet.uga.edu/student_clubs/scavma.auction. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door.
