What’s hot and what’s not is focus of free kitchen design trends seminar at UGA

Athens, Ga. – Jim Krengel, a certified master kitchen and bath designer, will provide a free seminar focusing on the latest kitchen design trends on Wednesday, April 2, from 9 a.m.-noon, in Master’s Hall of the Georgia Center for Continuing Education Conference Center and Hotel.

Krengel’s talk is sponsored by the furnishings and interiors program of the College of Family and Consumer Sciences and will precede a ceremony signaling the furnishings and interiors program receiving accreditation by the National Kitchen and Bath Association, according to Dawn Schueneman, a lecturer in the FI program.

Krengel is a 42-year veteran of the kitchen and bath industry. In 2002, he was inducted into the Kitchen and Bath Industry Hall of Fame for his contributions to the industry, as well as being awarded “Remodeling Magazine’s” Foundation Award for Lifetime Achievement in the remodeling industry.

In addition to winning multiple awards for his design skills, Krengel also has served as a consultant to Wilsonart International, Proctor and Gamble, Merillat Cabinetry, Corian and Dow Corning. He is the author of two design books: “KITCHENS: Lifestyle and Design,” and “BATHrooms.” Krengel recently completed two design CDs: “Designer Bathrooms by Professional Designers” and “The Best of Kitchens by Professional Designers.” Each CD contains between 250 and 300 pages of ideas, stories and portfolios.

Although the seminar is free to the public, those planning to attend or who need more information on Krengel’s seminar, should contact Dawn Schueneman at dawn@fcs.uga.edu.
