The Lamar Dodd School of Art’s 2012 MFA Exhibition will be on view at the Lamar Dodd School of Art galleries March 23-April 13. An opening reception will be held March 23 from 6-9 p.m.

The exhibition will feature artwork by graduate students in a range of media, marking the end of their exploration of both traditional and innovative approaches to art making at UGA. The exhibition represents the culmination of three years of in-depth investigation of contemporary issues in the arts and corresponding work in a range of media.

“This is an exciting group of graduate students, and I have been intrigued and surprised by their work over the last two years,” said Jeffrey Whittle, gallery director at the art school. “Because the master of fine arts is a terminal degree, the exit show is a rite of passage for these young artists, and the event itself is a fun yet important moment for our school.”

The 2012 MFA candidates include Adam Bodine, Andrew Burkitt, Lauren Cunningham, Ernesto R. Gomez, Kathleen Massey Hendrick, Phil Jasen, Deanna Kamal, Justin Klocke, Peter McCarron, Ben McKee, Jessica McVey, Laura Mullen, Sydney Nettles-Coates, Kyungmin Park, Justin Plakas, Michael Vincent Prault, Robin Reif, Terence Tirpak and Grace Zuniga.

The Lamar Dodd School of Art is located at 270 River Road. The galleries are open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
