Administrative Fellows-application deadline

UGA’s Administrative Fellows Program provides a unique opportunity for faculty to work closely with select senior administrators to gain valuable knowledge and experience in academic leadership. This program is part of a broader initiative involving the Southeastern Conference Academic Consortium known as the Academic Leadership Development Program.

Up to three individuals are selected each year to serve as UGA Administrative Fellows under the mentorship of a senior administrator or dean. The goal of UGA’s Administrative Fellows Program, and the related SECAC ALDP, is to expose faculty interested in administration to the challenges and rewards of such institutional service, and to prepare them for potential leadership positions within the academy. Whether or not a Fellow ultimately chooses to pursue an administrative position in the future, the program will, at a minimum, provide him or her with a better appreciation for and understanding of how the university operates.

Senior administrators and deans of all schools and colleges are invited to nominate one individual for an Administrative Fellowship. To be eligible, a nominee must be a tenured faculty member or have a standing appointment as service or administrative faculty. Nominees are expected to possess strong leadership experience, as well as outstanding records of achievement in their current and past positions, along with a sincere interest in administrative service.

The deadline for the 2012-2013 year is March 30. More details and an application form to be completed by the nominee can be found online at http://provost.uga.edu/index.php/resources/fellowships/administrative-fellows-program/.
