Admissions staff make presentations

Four staff members from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions were presenters this past month at the annual conference of the Southern Association of College Admission Counseling in Nashville.

Lori Jordan, senior assistant director of admissions at UGA’s Gwinnett campus, was a co-presenter for a session entitled “De-mystifying the Selective College Admissions Process” with admissions representatives from Davidson, Vanderbilt and Rhodes.

Amy Clines, assistant director of admissions and South Georgia outreach officer, presented sessions on the campus visit and balancing personal and professional lives as an admissions professional, while her colleague, Tiffany Pryor, also assistant director of admissions, presented a session on working with student admissions volunteers.

Bob Spatig, senior associate director of admissions, served on two panels with the directors of admissions from Miami, Davidson, Agnes Scott and Brenau. One panel focused on commissioned research on why students choose not to apply, while the other took guidance counselors through mock application file reviews. Spatig also presented on UGA’s Honors, Foundation Fellows and CURO programs in a session entitled, “Southern Universities: Looking Beyond the Stereotypes.”
