The 2007 J.G. Woodroof Lecture will be given at 2 p.m. April 5 by Gary W. Black, president of the Georgia Agribusiness Council Inc.
Black’s lecture, entitled “The Role of Farms and Food in Securing 21st Century America,” takes place in Masters Hall of the Georgia Center for Continuing Education Conference Center and Hotel. The event, free and open to the public, is co-sponsored by the department of food science and technology and the Food Science and Technology Club.
The GAC is the state’s broad-based trade association for the entire food and fiber industry. Its mission is to advance the business of agriculture and promote education and environmental stewardship to enhance the quality of life for the residents of Georgia.
