Book of poems explores identities and relationships

In “The Sky Was Once a Dark Blanket,” poet Kinsale Drake traverses the Southwest landscape to explore intricate relationships between Native peoples and the natural world, land, pop culture, music and multi-generational representations.

Fluctuating between musical influences, including the consequences of ethnomusicology, and the past, present and future, this collection examines the experiences of different identities in the 21st  century.
