An article in The New York Times quoted UGA English professor James Kibler about Bob Dylan borrowing lyrics from the Civil War-era poet, Henry Timrod. “If I were Timrod, I would love it,” Kilber said. “I would say he’s doing a great honor to Timrod and let’s celebrate that.” Kibler said he planned to share Dylan’s references with his classes because his students “probably know more about Bob Dylan than Timrod.”
