Following negotiations with students, the Illinois State University College of Business has relaxed the strict dress code it put in place at the beginning of the semester, the Chronicle of Higher Education reported.
Under the dress code, students wearing short skirts, jeans, shorts or overalls could be sent home and given a zero for any work collected that day. However, under the new rules instructors are allowed to knock 10 percent off students’ final grades if they display poor “professional behavior,” including punctuality or conduct, in addition to dress.
