Call for proposals

The vice president for instruction, in collaboration with the provost, announces the availability of summer 2014 Innovative Instruction Faculty Grants. Ten grants of $5,000 each will be awarded. The grants may be used for summer salary or in other ways that support faculty innovative instruction projects. All full-time faculty are eligible to apply.

The grants are an opportunity for faculty to improve teaching and learning through innovative instructional projects such as redesign of course curricula/materials, integration of new techniques/pedagogical strategies into a course or exploration of a new instructional technique.

Faculty who submit a proposal should provide a brief proposal outlining their innovative instruction project. The proposal should include a title page with the faculty member’s name, contact information and signatures of the department head and dean. A title page is available for download at https://ovpi.uga.edu/faculty-staff-resources/summer-innovative-instruction-grants.

The description (no more than two pages) of the innovative instructional project should include a statement of purpose/significance of the project; goals and objectives; an explanation of how the project will enhance student learning; an implementation plan outlining how the goals will be met; and a timeline for project milestones and completion.

Submit proposals to Suzanne Hall at shall@uga.edu by March 17. Recipients will be notified by April 4.
