UGA’s annual Campaign for Charities will get under way Oct. 18 with a kickoff breakfast in Georgia Hall of the Tate Student Center. The event runs from 7:45–9 a.m.
At the breakfast, university vice presidents, deans, directors and department heads will receive packets of pre-printed pledge cards and other campaign materials for distribution in their respective areas.
The fundraising goal for this year’s campaign is $425,000 and the campaign hopes to up participation to 27 percent of faculty and staff, up 3 percent from last year.
This year’s campaign chairman is Maurice Daniels, dean of the School of Social Work.
As in the past, the university will conduct a single campaign for charitable contributions to United Way agencies, Georgia Share members and other organizations approved through the State Charitable Contributions Program.
