Patrick Lammie, a Center for Tropical and Emerging Global Diseases member and an adjunct senior research scientist in the cellular biology department in UGA’s Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, was awarded the Donald Mackay Medal during the American Society for Tropical Medicine and Hygiene’s annual meeting in Baltimore.
The Mackay Medal recognizes outstanding work in tropical health, especially relating to improvements in the health of rural or urban workers in the tropics. In a long-standing partnership with the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, the Donald Mackay Medal is awarded in odd-numbered years by ASTMH and in even-numbered years by RSTMH.
