As part of Heart Health Month, the University Health Center is offering cholesterol screening for members of the university community. Screenings are free for students and $10 for faculty and staff.
Screenings will be held Feb. 8-11 and 15-18 from 8 a.m. until noon and 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. No appointments are necessary, and participants should not eat anything after midnight the night before the test. Participants should bring a UGA ID and drink plenty of water so that they are fully hydrated when their blood is drawn.
Results, which will be mailed at the end of February, will include a lipid profile with a breakdown of HDL/LDL (the “good” and “bad” cholesterol) and triglycerides.
