The Circle Gallery in the College of Environment and Design will open its season with Breaking Dormancy: The Sapelo Island Greenhouse Show, an exhibit dedicated to the historic greenhouse on Sapelo Island.
Area artists Karekin Goekjian, Caroline Montague, Sue Goldstein and Ginger Goekjian will exhibit paintings, photographs and pastels inspired by the greenhouse. The exhibition, which opens Aug. 12, will be on display until Sept. 20. An opening reception will be held Aug. 15 from 4:30-6 p.m.
Initiated by the Friends of the Marine Institute, the show is made possible with additional support from the College of Environment and Design, the Willson Center for Humanities and Arts, Georgia Sea Grant and UGA’s Public Service and Outreach Office.
Open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays, Circle Gallery is located in the entrance hall of the Jackson Street Building at 285 S. Jackson St. Admission is free and open to the public.
