Topping The Atlantic magazine’s list of Five Higher-Education Trends for 2014 was “Earning College Credit for What You Know.”
According to the magazine, 2014 could see a push, led by the Obama administration, toward shrinking the time it takes to get a college degree by offering credit for work experience and fast-tracking students who show mastery in the discipline.
Other trends on the list are a broader focus on career and technical education, increased “student-loan outrage,” a focus on privacy concerns of student data and teacher effectiveness.
