Athens, Ga. – The University of Georgia College of Environment and Design will host an exhibit of paintings by Bob Hughes, an alumnus and a principal in HGOR, a planning and landscape architect design firm in Atlanta. The opening reception, which coincides with the college’s alumni weekend celebration, will be held March 30 from 2:30 to 4 p.m. in the college’s Circle Gallery. The exhibit, titled A Lighthearted Walk through Serious Matters 2, will run through May 1.

A graduate of UGA’s CED (B.L.A. ’77), Hughes has several decades of experience in landscape design. His paintings explore the notion of landscape with humor and irony.

The Circle Gallery is located in the Owens Library on the ground floor of UGA’s Caldwell Hall. The hours of the gallery are 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays. For more information, email mtufts@uga.edu, call 706/542-8292 or see www.ced.uga.edu.

The College of Environment and Design is one of the oldest and largest schools of Landscape Architecture in the U.S. and offers degrees in landscape architecture, historic preservation and environmental planning and design, as well as a certificate in environmental ethics.
