Concert on the Lawn will be held Oct. 16

The School of Music’s Hodgson Wind Ensemble will present its seventh annual Concert on the Lawn Oct. 16 at 12:30 p.m. on North Campus.

The approximate 90-minute program will include “Schwanda, the Bagpiper, Polka and Fugue” by Jaromir Weinberger, “America, The Beautiful,” “The Melody Shop” by Karl King, “The Pathfinder of Panama” by John Phillip Sousa, The Barber of Seville overture by Rossini, “Broadway Spectacular” by John Higgins and much more.

The Hodgson Wind Ensemble, conducted by Director of Bands Cynthia Johnston Turner, has earned an international reputation for its artistry, precision, sensitivity and musicianship. Membership, determined each semester by blind audition, includes the most accomplished graduate and undergraduate UGA music majors.
