After sparking a national debate by using the “F-word” in an editorial about President George W. Bush, the editor of Colorado State University’s student newspaper will keep his job, the Denver Post reported.
The university’s Board of Student Communications only cited J. David McSwane, editor of the Rocky Mountain Collegian, for violating two parts of the school’s ethics code: using profanity and exhibiting poor judgment in how the article was written. The editorial sparked nationwide disputes about whether McSwane had overstepped his First Amendment rights.
