Cross country coach Dave Hartman was named the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association’s South Region Women’s Coach of the Year.
Hartman, who joined the UGA staff before the 2004 season, led his squad to its best finish in school history at the NCAA cross country championships. The team also won its first NCAA South regional title in November after topping second-place Florida 35-70. The team was the runner-up at the Southeastern Conference championships in October.
