Athens, Ga. – The University of Georgia College of Pharmacy and the American Pharmacists Association will celebrate American Pharmacists Month with the 8th annual Dawgtoberfest: Rx for Good Health, on Wednesday, Oct. 20, 12 – 3 p.m. The event is open to university students, faculty, and staff and families in the Athens community.
Sponsored by Walgreens, the event will be an afternoon of health promotion and relaxation at Pharmacy South and will include health screenings and free samples for attendees.
Flu shots will be available for $20 (cash only).Also, available will be free body fat analysis, diabetes assessments, and blood pressure checks.Additionally, student/faculty booths from student health groups across campus will be present with information on hypertension, asthma, breast cancer, diabetes, fad diets, immunizations, sexually transmitted diseases, women’s health topics, pediatric health topics, and heartburn.
Pharmacy South is located on the university’s South Campus behind Snelling Dining Commons and across from Stegeman Coliseum.Parking is available in the South Campus Deck and Carlton Street Deck.
