Dr. Mark Ebell, an associate professor in the College of Public Health, has been appointed to the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force.
The USPSTF is an independent panel of non-federal experts in prevention and evidence-based medicine, composed of primary care providers. It conducts scientific evidence reviews of a range of clinical preventive health care services, such as screening, counseling and preventive medications, and develops recommendations for healthcare providers and health systems. Ebell, who was nominated by the American Academy of Family Physicians, will serve a four-year term and will be the only member on the task force from Georgia.
