Ellen Evans, an associate professor of kinesiology in the College of Education, received $272,489 from the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association to compare the effectiveness of two different diets on body composition, physical function and fatigue in overweight, older women. Evans will study a higher protein weight loss diet with and without exercise, and a higher carbohydrate weight loss diet combined with exercise. Evans’ co-investigators are Mary Ann Johnson, professor of foods and nutrition in the College of Family and Consumer Sciences, and Kevin McCully and Patrick O’Connor, professors of kinesiology in the College of Education.
