Enrollment in graduate programs on the rise for women and minorities

According to a report released by the Council of Graduate Schools, enrollment in graduate programs at American universities increased in 2004. The increase is attributed to female and minority students who make up the
2 percent increase from 2003. The rise in minority students was especially strong in areas of biological and physical sciences, which are fields where minority representation has been lacking in the past.
