Erin Dolan, Lillian Eby and National Science Foundation

Eby

Lillian Eby is a University of Georgia professor of psychology.

Erin Dolan, an associate professor of biochemistry and molecular biology in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences and Senior Scholar in Biology Education, and Lillian Eby, professor of psychology and director of the Owens Institute for Behavioral Research, were awarded $382,213 by the National Science Foundation to study mentoring in research universities. Dolan’s group seeks to identify the observable mentoring structures and determine the strength and function of these relationships. The researchers also will examine how different mentoring structures affect the outcomes undergraduates realize from participating in research. They also will determine the extent to which women and underrepresented minority undergraduates experience different mentoring structures and outcomes in comparison to majority students.
