Casimir A. Akoh, Distinguished Research Professor in the department of food science and technology, has been named the 2009 recipient of the Biotechnology Division Lifetime Achievement Award from the Biotechnology Division of the American Oil Chemists’ Society and sponsored by Novozymes AS.
He will receive the award at the 2009 AOCS annual meeting and expo in Orlando, Fla., on May 4 and will present an award lecture on May 5.
The award recognizes outstanding original research, as presented in high-quality technical papers regarding bioscience and biotechnology in fats, oils and lipids.
