Fordham University plans to sell its Marymount college campus for $27 million to EF Schools Inc., The Chronicle of Higher Education reported.
Marymount, a Roman Catholic college located in Tarrytown, N.Y., will soon be run by a group of private language-instruction institutions, which currently has 35 locations worldwide.
Fordham, also a Roman Catholic institution, initially took over Marymount in 2000 after the women’s college began having financial difficulties. Less than five years later, however, Fordham decided to close Marymount, citing financial issues and poor enrollment. Marymount, which had its final graduation last spring, will officially be run by EF Schools Inc. this spring.
