Four-day conference on algebraic geometry to be held on UGA campus

Athens, Ga. – The department of mathematics in UGA’s Franklin College of Arts and Sciences will host an international conference on algebraic geometry March 30-April 1.

The conference will feature a roster of eminent scholars from France, Italy and Germany, as well as from American universities including Princeton, Harvard, Stanford, Columbia, the University of Chicago and Yale.

The conference is free and open to public. Tomorrow at 5:30 p.m., a reception open to public will be held at Georgia Museum of Art on the UGA campus.

Major funding for the conference is provided by National Science Foundation, with additional funding coming from President’s Venture Fund, the department of mathematics, the Office of the Vice President for Research and the Graduate School.
