‘Georgia Reads’ launched for book lovers

The University of Georgia Press and Georgia Public Broadcasting, with support from Georgia Humanities, have partnered to launch “Georgia Reads,” a virtual book club.
Each year, the partners will select two UGA Press titles, and “Georgia Reads” content will include GPB radio interviews with the authors and a blog that highlights each title, live events with the authors and ways to interact via social media.

The first selection is Rodger Lyle Brown’s Party Out of Bounds: The B-52’s, R.E.M., and the Kids Who Rocked Athens, Georgia. On March 18, the UGA Press will host a 6:30 p.m. event at Prince Avenue Firehall #2 with Avid Bookshop. David Barbe, producer/engineer, musician and director of the music business certificate program at Terry College of Business, will interview the author and a panel of local musicians.
