Lutz Görgens, the consul general from the German Consulate in Atlanta, will give a talk, “Ten Years of the Euro: Reason to Celebrate?” on Feb. 14 at
5 p.m. in Room 214 of the Miller Learning Center.
Görgens is the official representative of the German government to the southeastern U.S. He has served as consul general in Atlanta since 2007 and previously headed the European Internal Market Affairs unit of the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin. He has served in Turkey, Tunisia, Mexico and the United Kingdom, among other nations.
The talk, sponsored by the department of Germanic and Slavic studies in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences and the department of international affairs in the School of Public and International Affairs, is free and open to the public.
