Harvard University announced that it granted exclusive rights to its newly developed medical diagnostic tools for third-world countries to the nonprofit organization Diagnostics for All Inc., The Chronicle of Higher Education reported.
Among the devices Harvard has developed, a postage stamp-sized paper that allows AIDS and HIV patients to determine whether they have liver toxicity is garnering the most attention. Developed by a Harvard chemist, the device lets patients discover if they have liver toxicity and can help them modify their treatment accordingly.
