Johns Hopkins University is considering closing its Humanities Center, an interdisciplinary center that has a 50-year history and the support of many graduate students, faculty and alumni, according to an article in Inside Higher Ed.
The center holds a unique designation as both an extracurricular and academic center that offers classes and functions as an academic department with just under 20 students currently enrolled. It offers two doctoral programs, a Master of Arts program, an honors program for undergraduates and two undergraduate courses.
