Athens, Ga. – U.S. Sen. Johnny Isakson spent some time on the University of Georgia campus April 10 as he met with students in a political science class at the School of Public and International Affairs, gave a presentation on international trade and economic growth at the School of Law, and took a tour of the College of Veterinary Medicine’s new Veterinary Medical Center.
He is pictured here with Dr. Sheila W. Allen, dean of the UGA College of Veterinary Medicine, in front of the Veterinary Medical Center Education Center. The VMC opened on March 25 and includes a state-of-the-art Teaching Hospital. It was built to enable the college to better meet its students’ educational needs and its patient care demands.
“I really enjoyed getting to interact with the students at UGA, and I was very impressed with the Veterinary Teaching Hospital and Education Center,” Isakson said. “It is important to continue to enhance the caliber of educational offerings at the university level, and the Veterinary Medical Center is a great example of this.”
