James Kau, Terry Chaired Professor in the department of real estate, received the American Real Estate Society’s Graaskamp Award for 2010.
The Graaskamp Award honors extraordinary iconoclastic thought and/or action throughout a person’s career in the development of a multidisciplinary philosophy of real estate. It is not awarded every year and requires a successful (66 percent) committee vote. It was last awarded in 2006.
The award recognizes lifetime achievement for Kau’s work in mortgage valuation and the analysis of the options embedded in mortgages.
