James W. Wilson, 2009 Gladys M. Thomason Award

James W. Wilson, a professor in the department of mathematics and science education, received the 2008 Gladys M. Thomason Award for Distinguished Service from the Georgia Council of Teachers of Mathematics.

He is nationally recognized for his scholarly contributions to mathematics education. His research has focused on problem solving, assessment and technology during a career that has spanned 50 years. Wilson also has made a substantial contribution to the field through his curriculum writing. He authored two textbook series for grades K-8 and a college methods textbook.
