Landscape architecture ranks high

UGA’s College of Environment and Design has received national recognition for the quality of its landscape architecture programs. The undergraduate and graduate landscape architecture programs were ranked second and sixth, respectively. The rankings were announced in the November issue of the Design Futures Council publication DesignIntelligence and were published in the council’s sixth annual edition of “America’s Best Architecture and Design Schools.”

This is the first year DesignIntelligence has included rankings of landscape architecture programs in its “Best Architecture and Design Schools” publication. UGA’s undergraduate program ranked second nationally. The graduate program tied for fourth nationally with Louisiana State University.

“I’ve looked back at 75 years of very committed and talented people who built this program and then look at our nationally recognized and diversely talented faculty who build on those foundations each day and I am not surprised with the excellence at what we’ve collectively done,” says John F. Crowley, dean of the College of Environment and Design. “It is however wonderfully gratifying to have some entity outside of ourselves confirm it. We also take pride in contributing this recognition to the outstanding community that is the University of Georgia.”
