Leonard Poon, director of the Institute of Gerontology, received the 2008 Tibbitts Award and delivered the Tibbitts lecture on Feb. 22 at the annual meeting of the Association of Gerontology in Higher Education.
AGHE is a national organization devoted primarily to gerontological education.
Poon’s lecture focused on the themes of a video documentary project, It’s About Time, which examines how time impacts the perception and reflections on one’s aging as well as the meaning of personal aging drawn from everyday deeds and action learned from individuals and groups of individuals.
