Live and learn

Kirk

Junior biology major Annie Kirk gets set for a zip-line canopy tour of the rainforest. The Ecolodge staff organizes some outings like this for students in residence.

UGA’s Ecolodge San Luis and Research Station regularly hosts academic programs, from primary and secondary schools through graduate-level courses and research. Class and lab facilities are available, as are reference materials, field gear, an extensive trail system, a teaching garden and a diversity of habitats. Four programs on Costa Rican ecology and geography are offered at the Ecolodge. In addition to UGA students, groups from Arizona State University, Canada’s University of Guelph, Michigan State University and other institutions have used the Ecolodge facilities.
