Love story recordings

The First Person Project, an oral history series documenting the experiences of everyday Georgians, is inviting participants to share their personal stories about love, loss and relationships this February in celebration of Valentine’s Day.

Modeled roughly after StoryCorps, an initiative by National Public Radio and the Library of Congress, the First Person Project of the Russell Library for Political Research and Studies provides tools for participants to offer an oral history of their experiences.

The First Person Project is accepting six sets of partners for this session to tell stories about love-at-first-sight, awkward first dates, budding relationships and bad breakups on Feb. 8 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. The Russell Library will archive the interviews to add to its documentation of life in post-20th century Georgia. A $10 donation to the project is suggested. Participants will receive a digital download of the recording and photographs.

Reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis and can be made by calling 706-542-5788 or registering online at www.libs.uga.edu/russell/fpp/fpp_register.html. For more information, call the phone number above or email russlib@uga.edu.
