Bassist Edgar Meyer is a six-time Grammy winner and one of America’s most versatile musicians. He returns to Hodgson Hall on April 1 at 7:30 p.m. with the Scottish Ensemble, a pioneering and virtuosic string orchestra from Glasgow. Their program features music by J.S. Bach, Holst and Pulitzer Prize winner Caroline Shaw, as well as a new Meyer piece commissioned for this tour.

George Hinchcliffe’s Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain can and will play and sing just about anything, from “Life on Mars” to the “Theme from Shaft to “Psycho Killer.” Join the band April 3 at 3 p.m. for an afternoon of harmony and hilarity.

Stay in the British spirit as the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra returns to Hodgson Concert Hall on May 1. Two soloists, violinist David Coucheron and harpist Elisabeth Remy Johnson, will be heard in Max Bruch’s Scottish Fantasy. That concert is during the Performing Arts Center’s 25th anniversary week, which begins with an April 24 performance by six-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald.

For each of these performances, 25 tickets are available for just $25, to mark the 25th anniversary of the Performing Arts Center. Tickets for UGA students are $10.
