Gallup and Purdue University have announced joint plans to conduct a survey that will attempt to measure return on investment for college degrees beyond earnings, according to a news release.
The five-year study will attempt to measure higher education outcomes by examining the status of 150,000 subjects in the following dimensions: purpose, social, physical, financial and community.
The study’s focus is an individual’s overall “well-being,” the news release said, with career satisfaction playing a supporting role.
The index is being funded by a $2 million grant from the Lumina Foundation.
