OER use still low among faculty

Most higher education faculty are not very familiar with open educational resources, according to a recent report. But they are interested, and some are willing to give it a try.

OERs are freely accessible, openly licensed documents and media teaching materials.

The survey and report, “Opening the Textbook: Educational Resources in U.S. Higher Education, 2015-16” conducted by the Babson Survey Research Group, found that use of OERs is low overall, but somewhat higher for large enrollment introductory-level courses.
