OIE to hold Study, Work and Travel Abroad Fair

The Office of International Education will host the 29th annual Study, Work and Travel Abroad Fair Oct. 7-8 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Grand Hall of the Tate Student Center.

Themed “Let your dreams take flight,” the fair is free and open to the public. It will showcase programs led by UGA faculty at UGA residential centers and international partner universities as well as those offered by external providers and other organizations involved in international education.

The two-day fair is an opportunity for UGA programs to market to students and for students to learn more about study-abroad opportunities, including program dates and costs.

In 2012, the fair attracted more than 90 program exhibitors and nearly 2,000 attendees.

“UGA’s annual study-abroad fair captures the vibrant world of international education, particularly the range of opportunities out there to study, research and work abroad,” said Kavita Pandit, associate provost for international education. “I encourage all students and also faculty and staff to visit us to learn about the growing diversity of opportunities for global learning.”

This year, Hairy Dawg, the costumed UGA mascot, will make an appearance on both days of the fair between 12:30 and 2 p.m.
