Colleges begin to solicit parents for their recommendations

Recommendations from mom and dad are among the latest requirements that some colleges are asking potential students to provide, The Chronicle of Higher Education reported.

In addition to the normal requirements of grades, standardized test scores and teacher recommendations, colleges including Centre College in Kentucky and Smith College in Massachusetts are requiring students to get recommendations from their parents, saying that parents can help provide more in-depth information on their children’s personalities and hobbies.
