Passport office move

On April 15, the passport office will move to the third floor of the Tate Student Center. Previously located in the UGACard office, the operation is moving to Print and Copy Services because of new federal regulations that prohibit the issuing of passports in facilities that produce other official identification cards.

Hours of operation will continue to be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Signs will announce the move to any visitors.

Passport applications require proof of citizenship, a valid government-issued ID-two forms of ID are required without a valid Georgia driver’s license-and one set of passport photos, which may be produced in the passport office for $8 per set.

A personal check or money order is required for State Department fees submitted with the application. The $25 execution fee due to UGA, plus photos fees if needed, can be paid with cash, personal check, credit/debit card or Bulldog Bucks.

Applicants may complete and print all of the necessary forms online at www.travel.state.gov. The forms also are available in the passport office.

A service of the Tate Student Center within UGA’s Division of Student Affairs, the passport office is open to all members of the university community as well as the general public.
