A committee has been formed to conduct a nationwide search and recommend candidates for director of the State Botanical Garden of Georgia.
Arthur Dunning, vice president for public service and outreach, appointed the committee to find a successor to Jeff Lewis, who will retire in June. Lewis has been a horticulture faculty member since 1983 and served as director of the botanical garden since 1989.
Bill Crowe, director of the Georgia Center for Continuing Education Conference Center and Hotel, will chair the committee. In addition to Crowe, committee members are Douglas A. Bailey, department head of horticulture; Shirley Berry, assistant director of the Botanical Garden; Pamela Bracken, president of Friends of the Garden; Melissa Caspary, graduate student; James Jeter, member of the Botanical Garden’s Board of Advisors; and Trish Kalivoda, associate vice president for public service and outreach.
