A faculty member at the University of West Florida has pledged $1 million to the UWF Foundation for the university’s College of Business Scholastic Excellence Awards endowment fund.
The gift from Bob Kimball, an associate professor of marketing and economics, will be funded through annual gifts and, if necessary, through Kimball’s estate plan.
It will be used for scholarships to juniors and seniors with the highest grade point average in each area of the UWF College of Business.
With anticipated matching gifts from the state of Florida, the endowment fund is projected to grow to at least $1.6 million.
Kimball earned his doctorate from UGA.
