The program for this year’s conference-“Building Economic Prosperity: Partnering to Break the Cycle of Poverty”-will address the implications and issues raised by the study on persistent poverty in the South, sponsored in 2002 by Sen. Zell Miller. Panel discussions will focus on best practices, models for faculty involvement, community-based participatory research, and collaborative projects.
The keynote speaker will be Pete Johnson, federal co-chair of the recently created Delta Regional Authority.
