Regents OK new university names

The University System of Georgia Board of Regents approved new names for two of its four new institutions created by merging extant colleges and universities. 

The board approved the name University of North Georgia for the new institution created through the consolidation of North Georgia College and State University in Dahlonega and Gainesville State College. It also approved the name Middle Georgia State College for the new institution created from the consolidation of Middle Georgia College and Macon State College.
