San Diego State University will become the second institution of higher education in the nation to offer an undergraduate major in lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender studies when it officially allows students to register next spring, The Chronicle of Higher Education reported.
The four-year major will be the first in California, but the second in the nation as it comes after Hobart and William Smith Colleges in New York. The degree will be multi-disciplinary and applicable to a variety of careers, school officials said.
